During my interview with Jonathan for the MA , I had gone through a selection of my past works and then presented the thought that I was proposing to look at during the study. Jonathan responded by saying that he could see a connection between my previous work and a natural movement into what I had proposed for my research. I personal hadn’t seen a link between the two.

I’m wondering if for this first semester it could be useful to recap on my previous work form the past 15 years making a few piece and reflect on what it was I was doing. To see how it might be a pathway to where I’m going and find what I might bring with me. There could be a reframing to be found here too as I won’t be bring in old ideology. Originally the work had a particular focus and perhaps re-examining it will open new directions.

I do have another thought towards how I might first approach the question I’m look to explore during the study period, but have some apprehension as to taking this way forward. Maybe a space before moving in that direction is the right thing to do?

Currently I am work on sketchbooks. There is a line in them that has been with me for some time, but feel it has fresh relevants to my work. I will maintain this draw process. It’s what I have visually for now. Along with written ideas and thoughts gained from reading.
